As one of the first steps, since November 2024, COcyber has run its first public consultation dedicated to needs assessment about fostering cooperation for improved digital safety and preparedness for cybersecurity threads across Europe.
The first edition of Cybersphere Insights highlights COcyber’s recent activities, including the launch of our website, stakeholder consultations, and the upcoming Ambassador Programme.
The “Navigating Cyber Storms” conference in Constanta, Romania, brought together experts to explore civilian and defence cybersecurity collaboration, with COcyber contributing through the insights of Prof. Georges Ataya in two panels addressing policy, education, and shared frameworks. The event emphasized the importance of unified strategies and highlighted opportunities for innovation and cross-sector cooperation to enhance Europe’s digital resilience.
COcyber participated in the ENISA Cybersecurity Awareness Raising Conference in Ljubljana, focusing on the human element in cybersecurity through discussions on psychological aspects, tailored strategies, and creative tools. Dorina Stanculescu represented COcyber, engaging with the community to strengthen collaboration within the European cybersecurity ecosystem.
In November 2024, EIT Digital hosted a capsule training programme where European professionals from deep-tech ventures met for networking and learning about new opportunities for their businesses. COcyber was presented as a part of the programme.
Georges Ataya represented COcyber at ATEC 2024 to engage with stakeholders on European security and defence training. He highlighted COcyber’s initiatives, including public consultations, to strengthen collaboration in addressing cybersecurity challenges.
The COcyber Cybersecurity Platform provides a unified, trusted space for collaboration, integrating resources and tools to enhance Europe’s cybersecurity resilience and foster civilian-defence cooperation. With its dynamic Observatory and interactive features, it empowers stakeholders to address evolving threats and build a sustainable, secure digital future for Europe.
COcyber is launching a focus group series to enhance collaboration between civilian and defence sectors in cybersecurity. These sessions will address coordination needs, cybersecurity intelligence sharing, and best practices across the EU, aiming to develop actionable frameworks for a secure digital future.
Europe’s rising cyber threats highlight the need for unified action. COcyber supports initiatives like the NIS2 Directive, EU Cyber Defence Policy, Cyber Resilience Act, Cybersecurity Act, Digital Europe Programme, Horizon Europe Programme, and the Cyber Solidarity Act, with a focus on strengthening protection and collaboration across sectors.
The COcyber Ambassador Programme is a strategic initiative aimed at expanding the reach of the COcyber project across Europe by enlisting influential cybersecurity professionals. Ambassadors will promote the project, foster collaboration between civilian and defense sectors, and enhance awareness through content creation, event participation, and engagement with their networks.
