What’s COcyber?
COcyber in a Nutshell
The Coordination between the Cybersecurity Civilian and Defense Spheres (COcyber) project is an ambitious two-year initiative designed to enhance the exchange, coordination, and collaboration between civilian and defence cybersecurity communities across Europe. As the digital landscape evolves, so do the threats and challenges. We aim to bridge the gap between these two critical spheres, fostering a unified approach to tackling cyber threats.
Our Mission
We are on a mission to create a robust and inclusive cybersecurity ecosystem that leverages the strengths of both civilian and defence sectors.
By facilitating knowledge transfer, best practice sharing, and innovation, we seek to strengthen Europe’s cybersecurity resilience, enhance cooperation, and ensure strategic autonomy in the digital age.
Our Key Objectives
Establishing a comprehensive framework for the systematic exchange of knowledge and best practices between civilian and defence cybersecurity stakeholders.
Developing and maintaining an online platform that includes a cybersecurity observatory, serving as a central hub for information sharing, collaboration, and innovation.
Organising workshops, seminars, high-level roundtables, and flagship events to gather both communities. These activities focus on cybersecurity innovation, dual-use technologies, governance, and stakeholder engagement.
Co-defining policy recommendations to harmonise actions at both Member State and European levels, ensuring cohesive and coordinated responses to cyber threats.
Promoting cross-fertilization and synergies with other relevant European initiatives and projects, leveraging the collective expertise and leadership of our team and the ecosystem.
Our Impact on Stakeholders
COcyber benefits a wide range of stakeholders:
- National, Regional, and Local Authorities: Enhance their cybersecurity capabilities and coordination efforts.
- Private Sector: Support critical infrastructure operators, defence contractors, cybersecurity companies, SMEs, and startups.
- Academic and Research Institutions: Foster innovation and knowledge exchange.
- Regulatory Authorities and European Players: Ensure a unified and strategic approach to cybersecurity across Europe.
