COcyber at the Cluster Synergies Webinar: Building Bridges for a Safer Digital Europe

On 15 May 2025, our Project Coordinator Alessandra Zini ( EIT Digital), presented COcyber during the Cluster Synergies Webinar, a joint initiative that brought together several EU-funded projects working at the intersection of cybersecurity, digital resilience, and civil-defence cooperation CyberSecDome, PHOENI2X, SecAwarenessTruss, SYNAPSE, CUSTODES, CONSOLE, COevolution, and CraCoWi.

The webinar provided a timely opportunity to engage with cybersecurity innovation projects with dual-use potential and to present the COcyber platform as a way to continue and deepen the information exchange. In this context, participating projects were invited to join the COcyber consultation held on 13 June 2025, which focused on identifying and validating best practices in civil-defence cooperation across the EU. The strong turnout and active participation underscored the value of coordinated action and confirmed the role of COcyber in facilitating structured collaboration across the cybersecurity ecosystem.
In her intervention, the coordinator outlined COcyber’s vision of a robust and inclusive cybersecurity ecosystem that actively bridges civilian and defence domains. Funded under Horizon Europe, COcyber was designed to address fragmentation, limited collaboration, and lack of structured governance in the European cybersecurity landscape. The project responds to these challenges with a clear mission: to build trust, enable synergies, and foster a common European approach to digital safety.
Alessandra stressed that COcyber is creating the conditions for long-term collaboration. Through its community platform and Cybersecurity Observatory, COcyber provides a structured space for stakeholders to connect, share intelligence, and explore new opportunities. The project’s active calendar of consultations, roundtables, and workshops supports engagement across sectors, while its capacity-building activities aim to strengthen both awareness and skills.

A key point highlighted during the webinar was the importance of synergy, a message that resonates deeply with COcyber’s approach. As Zini explained, progress in cybersecurity cannot happen in isolation. The complexity of emerging threats, the dual-use nature of technologies, and the urgency of Europe’s strategic autonomy all require coordinated efforts and open channels between institutions, industries, and policy frameworks. Synergy is not an abstract goal; it’s a practical requirement.
COcyber’s participation in the webinar also drew attention to the role of its Ambassadors’ Programme, which mobilises key experts to promote cross-sector dialogue, amplify the project’s impact, and support outreach activities across Europe. By activating this network, COcyber ensures that its work extends beyond deliverables — becoming part of a wider, resilient, and collaborative cybersecurity culture.
The Cluster Synergies Webinar served as a reminder that while each project has its own path, the most meaningful results emerge when those paths intersect. For COcyber, the event reinforced its commitment to working not just on cybersecurity — but with others, for Europe’s digital future.
