COcyber Ambassador Programme: Strengthening Europe’s Cybersecurity

In today’s interconnected world, cybersecurity has become a top priority for both civilian and defense sectors. To address this need, the COcyber project has launched the COcyber Ambassador Programme—a strategic initiative aimed at expanding the project’s reach and fostering collaboration across Europe. The programme recruits experts in the cybersecurity field who have strong online presences and can act as advocates for the project, driving awareness and engagement.

What is the COcyber Ambassador Programme?

The COcyber Ambassador Programme is a key component of COcyber's communication and outreach strategy, recruiting key figures in the cybersecurity community to promote and support the project’s objectives. The ambassadors will use their influence to raise awareness about COcyber, share valuable insights, and help build connections between civilian and defense cybersecurity stakeholders across Europe.

The COcyber Ambassador Programme will be conducted in three rounds, with each round lasting six months. Each batch of COcyber ambassadors has distinct expectations based on the project’s evolving needs, with early batches focusing more on community building and content creation, while later batches emphasize promoting project results and participating in key events. During each round, 10 to 15 candidates will be evaluated by a Selection Committee composed of COcyber consortium members, and ultimately, 5 to 9 ambassadors will be selected. 

The recruitment process focuses on several key criteria. Ambassadors will be chosen from across the 27 EU Member States to ensure regional, national, and EU-wide representation. Candidates must have a strong online presence, with at least 2,000 followers on platforms like LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter), or Mastodon. Additionally, they must be recognized experts in the cybersecurity field, demonstrating a proven track record of contributions, such as publications and leadership roles.

COcyber seeks to collaborate with top-notch professionals in the cybersecurity sector to expand the reach of our activities and ensure that the voices of diverse stakeholders are heard. We are looking for passionate professionals to support us in:

• Amplifying COcyber events, activities, and opportunities across their network of cybersecurity stakeholders.
• Fostering COcyber’s online community by sharing updates and results.
• Expanding access to more stakeholders who can contribute to COcyber’s initiatives, such as public consultations, roundtables, or events like hackathons.
