COcyber Hosts Cross Project Exploitation Workshop with HE and Digital Europe Cybersecurity Initiatives
On 18 June 2026, COcyber brought together representatives from EMERALD, ENSEMBLE, TELEMETRY, DOSS, CUSTODES andCONFIRMATE for an online Cross Project Exploitation Workshop dedicated to strengthening collaboration and accelerating the path from research results to real world impact.
Moderated by Alessandra Zini, Project Lead at 28DIGITAL, and facilitated by 28DIGITAL Exploitation Managers Sara Giona and Esther Garrido, the workshop provided a space for projects to exchange experiences and discuss common challenges related to exploitation planning and Key Exploitable Results (KERs).
The session opened with a presentation of the Horizon Europe exploitation checklist, focusing on compliance topics that are particularly relevant towards the end of a project. Discussions covered KER ownership, access and use rights, exploitation conditions, co ownership arrangements and alignment with DESCA requirements. Participants also received an overview of the COcyber platform as one of the project's key exploitable results.
The interactive part of the workshop centred on breakout sessions, where participating projects presented their key results and discussed potential exploitation paths, target users and sustainability approaches. Facilitated discussions provided real time feedback and helped identify recurring challenges, including access to validation environments, stakeholder engagement, intellectual property management and regulatory complexity. The second breakout session focused on consolidating these discussions into preliminary exploitation roadmaps.
The workshop also highlighted opportunities for synergies among projects with complementary objectives and reinforced the value of sharing experiences across the European cybersecurity landscape. Building on the insights collected during the discussions, COcyber will consolidate recommendations to support exploitation planning and contribute to stronger alignment with the Horizon Results Platform and the expected outcomes of participating projects.
