COcyber takes part in the 25th European Security and Defence College (ESDC) EAB.Cyber Meeting
On September 11, 2024, the 25th European Security and Defence College (ESDC) EAB.Cyber Meeting convened in Brussels and virtually, focusing on AI's role in digital transformation, cybersecurity training initiatives, and updates from the broader network.
Georges Ataya, representing the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management—a partner in the COcyber Project—delivered a presentation highlighting the project's mission and developments.
The COcyber Project aims to enhance collaboration between civilian and defense sectors to strengthen Europe's cybersecurity resilience. Ataya's presentation covered several key aspects:
- Mission to Enhance Collaboration: COcyber seeks to bridge the gap between civilian and defense cybersecurity communities, fostering a unified approach to tackling cyber threats.
- Development of Information-Sharing Tools: The project is creating tools designed to improve information sharing and cybersecurity resilience, facilitating knowledge transfer and best practice sharing.
- Policy Recommendations for Harmonization: COcyber is co-defining policy recommendations to harmonize actions at both Member State and European levels, ensuring cohesive and coordinated responses to cyber threats.
- Building a Robust Cybersecurity Ecosystem: The project emphasizes the importance of creating a robust and inclusive cybersecurity ecosystem that leverages the strengths of both civilian and defense sectors.
The meeting also featured the sister project ECYBRIDGE, which shares a complementary mission in advancing Europe's cybersecurity framework.
These discussions underscore the importance of collective action in achieving digital safety and defense. Individuals interested in contributing to the ongoing research and discussions within the COcyber Project are encouraged to reach out and participate.
