COcyber Joins the Debate on Quantum Threat and Post-Quantum Cryptography at the GovTech4All Summit

From 16 to 18 June 2025, the GovTech4All Summit brought together Europe’s leading voices in public-sector digital transformation. Hosted in Bilbao (Bizkaia, Spain) and organised by Lantik under the EU’s GovTechConnect initiative, the invite-only event focused on advancing innovation in AI, quantum technologies, cybersecurity, and interoperability for modern governance.

As part of the programme, COcyber hosted a dedicated seminar on Post-Quantum Cryptography, showcasing its contribution to a key cybersecurity priority. The session featured a presentation by Professor Federico Pintore from the University of Trento, covering the importance of post-quantum cryptography for the security of future and present communications.

The seminar was introduced by Federico Iannuli and Maria-Chiara Zaccaria from our consortium partner The Lisbon Council. Around 30 participants, including start-ups, SMEs, and public administration representatives, engaged in the seminar. COcyber also presented its growing community platform, designed to bridge civil and defence cybersecurity and promote secure, dual-use innovation across Europe.
In addition to her role in the seminar, Maria-Chiara Zaccaria also participated in a high-level roundtable which gathered experts from different fields to discuss the importance of post-quantum cryptography for the long-term security of digital systems against future threats posed by quantum computing. Representing COcyber, she contributed to discussions on the importance of security-by-design frameworks and proactive preparation for quantum-era threats in a rapidly evolving geopolitical landscape.

GovTech4All offered a valuable platform for COcyber to strengthen its network, raise awareness of post-quantum challenges, and connect with leading voices shaping the future of public-sector innovation.
