The COcyber Team Gathers in Brussels to Discuss Milestones Achieved and Future Steps
Our COcyber team gathered for the first general assembly on October 7th, 2024 in Brussels, Belgium. The project, which aims to foster collaboration between the civilian and defense cybersecurity sectors within the European Union, has been running for four months. During this time, we reached an important milestone: the launch of the COcyber website (cocyber.eu).
The website is being released in two phases. The first phase, published in early October, is the project website, which shares information about COcyber’s objectives, activities, results, updates and the team behind the project. The second phase will transform the website into a platform to offer a one-stop shop providing all essential information about the European cybersecurity sector and its activities. The featured information will cover identifying cybersecurity actors, related initiatives and projects, funding sources, and access to relevant public documents and a data room. Our goal is for the COcyber platform to become a central reference point for information sharing, engaging a wide range of stakeholders in the cybersecurity ecosystem, including SMEs and start-ups, researchers and innovation centres, public authorities, and regulatory bodies.
A key topic during our discussions was the upcoming release of the first public consultation with stakeholders. This consultation aims to deepen our understanding of evolving cybersecurity threats and explore ways to enhance collaboration between civilian and defense cybersecurity sectors. Led by Solvay Business School (Université Libre de Bruxelles) in cooperation with the European Organisation for Security, the consultation will gather qualitative and quantitative data through focus groups, interviews with leading cybersecurity experts, and an online questionnaire.
We will share more information about the consultation in the coming weeks, inviting all interested parties to participate!
Thank you, Lisbon Council team, for hosting us for this first physical project meeting at your premises!
