The COcyber Project was Successfully Kicked Off Virtually In July 2024
The 24th of July, 2024, marks the first milestone of the COcyber project. Its kick-off meeting was organised online and hosted by the project’s coordinator, the EIT Digital (EITD) team. This meeting aimed to introduce the partners, their responsibilities in the project, and the first steps towards the proactive COcyber community of civilian and defence stakeholders in the cybersecurity sector.
COcyber is an EU-funded project, with the European Cybersecurity Center as the granting authority. Its central aim is to coordinate European efforts and engagement in civilian and defence cybersecurity, and the work is organised around five axes, including:
- Coordination activities between cybersecurity civilian and defence spheres, including notably the establishment of the Cyber Secretariat and needs assessment for improved collaboration in the cybersecurity spheres, are overseen by the European Organisation for Security (BE).
- Development of cybersecurity observatory and COcyber platform for multi-stakeholder information sharing, led by The Lisbon Council (BE).
- Know-how, good practice sharing, and information transfer activities, which essentially cover the collection of best practices and case studies as well as know-how exchange activities, led by Université Libre de Bruxelles - Solvay Brussels School (BE).
- Communication and dissemination to maximise the COcyber’s impact among its target stakeholders, guided by AUSTRALO Marketing Lab (ES).
- Synergies and exploitation, ensuring the project’s collaboration with relevant initiatives and impact beyond the project, managed by EIT DIGITAL (BE).
- Project management to oversee the project’s progress and report the outcomes to the funding authority, coordinated by EIT DIGITAL (BE).
We aim to build a vibrant community of cybersecurity stakeholders, including SMEs, Start-Ups, research organisations, public authorities, major players from the private sector, and related initiatives!
