COcyber attended ENISA’s Cybersecurity Awareness Raising Conference
On November 27, 2024, COcyber participated in the ENISA Cybersecurity Awareness Raising Conference, held in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Organized by the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) and SI-CERT, the event brought together public and private sector professionals to focus on innovative approaches to raising cybersecurity awareness, with an emphasis on the human element.
Representing COcyber, Dorina Stanculescu joined the conference to connect with the cybersecurity community and engage in discussions about raising cybersecurity awareness across Europe. Her presence aligned with the event's central themes, focusing on the importance of the human aspect in cybersecurity communication, exploring behavioral insights, and sharing best practices for engaging diverse audiences effectively.
The conference was structured into three thematic parts:
1. Hacking the Human: This segment explored psychological and behavioral aspects of cybersecurity, with sessions on topics such as the psychology of cybercrime, human attack vectors, neurodiversity in awareness raising, and persuasion tactics in cyber fraud.
2. Winning the Game of Cybersecurity: Best practices were shared for audience-specific awareness-raising strategies, including crime prevention, AR-in-a-box for SMEs, cybersecurity for older adults, and reframing awareness programs to empower users without fear-based tactics.
3. Playing Around with Cybersecurity: Interactive and creative tools were highlighted, such as escape rooms, role-playing games, storytelling, team-based games, and video games designed to make cybersecurity awareness more engaging.
COcyber valued the opportunity to network with ENISA and the wider EU cybersecurity ecosystem at this event. Building connections with leading experts and organizations strengthens COcyber ability to collaborate on shared goals and contribute to a unified approach to enhancing cybersecurity resilience across Europe.
